Byousoku 5cm Map

The stage of episode 2 is Tanegashima, an island in southwest area of Japan.



The street in Nakatane Town in Tanegashima. Takaki and Kanae were living in this town.



Nakatane high school. Takaki and Kanae went to this school. Nakatane high school will integrate with Minamitane high school in April 2008, and the new school will keep using Nakatane high school's campus.



This is bike-parking area in Nakatane high school. Kanae often waited for Takaki around here.
Generally, Japanese high schools prohibit for student to use motorcycle or any motor vehicles. However Tanegashima doesn't have enough public transportations, so Nakatane high school allows 50cc utility motorcycle for students.



Convisience store I-Shop. Takaki and Kanae often visited this shop to buy something drink.









Takaki and Kanae's favorite coffee milk drink Dairy Coffee and yogurt sour drink Yoghurppe. The drinks are production of Minami Nihon Rakuno Kyodo Co. Ltd, a local dairy company in Miyazaki Prefecture.



Kanae's surfing training spot Nakayama Beach. She and her big sisiter parked their car at here.

Takaki was viewing some distant place from this grass field.

Takaki departed Tanegashima from this airport. This is ex-airport now, because new airport has opened in March 18, 2006.



Kanae saw from this spot Takaki's airplane was leaving.
The airplane Takaki boarded was YS-11. YS-11 has retired from all Japanese airlines in September 2006, but some of them are sold to foreign airlines and working still now.
