Story: Summer
has come. Noboru was on his way home with Wakana. Wakaba asked to
Noboru about his postgraduation plan. Noboru said he would graduate a
mediocrity school and get a mediocrity job.
It began raining. Noboru remembered the rainy day with Mikako. Wakana
found a large TV screen on the wall of a building. The screen showed a
image of a tracer, and a news about Tarsian Project. Wakana said the
project seems as if that was like a movie because the project is very
different from her life. Noboru said one of his friends (Mikako)
participated in the project but the friend might had already forgotten
him.
The bottom of the stairs was the fork of their ways to home. Noboru
lent his umbrella to Wakana. Wakana asked Noboru for a date tomorrow,
and kissed Noboru before she left.
Noboru hid from the rain at a bus shelter. At that time, he got an
e-mail from Wakana. She said "Take care not to catch a cold and mind
your step!" Noboru smiled. Just after that, Noboru got an e-mail again.
The e-mail was from Mikako. Mikako told about her first battle at Pluto
and she must go to Sirius. That meant her next e-mail would reach to
Noboru 8 years and 7 months after. Mikako said "Sorry," and "We are
like lovers separated by space and the Earth, aren't we?"
Mikako also said "I want to go back... I want to go back and meet you,
Noboru-kun." Noboru noticed Mikako did not give up their relationship
yet, different from himself.

lightyears to Sirius after 48 hours. Mikako was told that Hisa was
rescued by another space ship in the fleet. Mikako talked with Hisa

Noboru why he had quit Kenod club. Noboru said that he didn't know what
he should do, and lost passion to continue kendo. Wakana said she

is saying in a roundabout way that she wants to meet Noboru again
because she likes him.)
Mikako asked to Miwa how
she felt about getting time difference with the people who had been
close to her. Miwa answered she had a chance to go back to the Earth
once but she didn't, because she was afraid of the time difference
between she and other people.

Story: One year has passed since Mikako left.
Noboru bought a magazine which featured Tarsian investigating project.
After he got out from the store, Noboru got an e-mail from Mikako which
said she would leave from Jupiter. She said "It will take longer and
longer for the e-mail to reach you, but even from Oort Cloud which
exists on the furthest corner of the Solar system, it's still about
half a year, huh? It's like air-mail in the 20th century. Yeah, it'll
be all right!"
The delay of e-mail was getting longer. Noboru was afraid himself would become a person who only was waiting e-mail from Mikako.
One day, Noboru ran into a friend of junior high. The friend said
Noboru's school uniform looked cool because Jouhoku high school was a
high-level school. The friend glanced at Noboru's magazine, and joked
he is having a boring book. Noboru said he bought it because Mikako
joined the project, but the friend couldn't remember Mikako well. The
friend said Mikako and the project were not concerned with his life
because she was not on the Earth now and the outcomes of the project
can come up decades@after. And, the friend said he would go shortly to
hang out with his buddys and girls.
One day, at school, Noboru saw a boy and a girl are talking happily.
Just in the moment, an e-mail reached on his cell phone from Mikako. He
remembered Mikako was longing for the uniform of Jouhoku highschool on
his way home. But, she did not wear it, and she was not here.
Noboru looked the sky up. He began to doubt his self confidence waiting for Mikako.
