Story:
At the hospital, Sayuri's mother was getting emotional. She was fatigued for nursing. Sayuri's health condition did not become good yet. So her doctor recommended to change hospital. The new "hospital" was in Aomori. It was Tomisawa's labo.

Sayuri was viewing the doctor, her families, and herself. Sayuri's "body" was keeping sleep on a movable bed, but actually "herself" was standing at a corner of the room, getting out from the body.

Nurse and doctor pushed the bed and brought her body out from the room. Sayuri was looking at them sadly. When she turned her eyes to outside of the window, she found a boy was rushing into the hospital. It was Hiroki. She said to the hospital staff "Wait! Don't bring me out! Please, Hiroki is...." But they couldn't hear her voices because it was not from her body but spirit. Hiroki was breathing heavyly for a while, and he asked Sayuri's room number at the front desk of the hospital. While the few seconds waiting the answer, he flash backed the letter from Sayuri.

To Hiroki-kun,
I'm sorry I don't see you before I leave here. The hospital I'm going says they can't localize the cause, so I have to go to hospital in Tokyo. But, I have sometimes met with you in a lot of dream of me, Hiroki-kun. I may be able to keep relationships with the real world if I don't lose the memory of the summer of the three of us....just maybe.

Hiroki came into Sayuri's hospital room.

Hiroki-kun, Did the beautiful white plane fly to the Tower beyond the sea without any trouble?

The room was vacant. However, he felt something in his back. He turned, and he extend arm to the space trying to touch the something.
"Sayuri, are you here?"
Sayuri extended arm too, and the both's hand was coming in contact.

Story:
In a break between classes, Hiroki was at his classroom. His friends invited him to watching baseball game in the next Sunday, but he declined it softly. He couldn't feel like keeping together with other persons, he didn't know why. He was living in a huge city, but he had no persons who want to stay or talk together.

When he had no way to kill time, he walked to the station near his dormitory. He stood by wall for long time just for seeing unknown people walking through ticket gate. In such days, he saw Sayuri in the dream sometimes. In the dream, he couldn't hear what she was saying, and his voice couldn't reach to her. In the next day he saw such a dream, the Tower was seen clearly from Tokyo. And, the darkness settled over his thoughts through the day.

Hiroki was sitting on a bench at school's garden. His girlfriend found him, and said he looks cranky in fine day. He answered surlily "That's not it." She pointed out that Hiroki was seeing the tower often although he don't like it. He said "I don't see it. Stop disguising my thoughts." more surlily. She smiled, came close to him, and said "I'm not disguising. I know you because I'm looking at you anytime."

They walked back to Hiroki's dormitory. On the way, she asked about his homecoming plan in summer vacation. Hiroki said he would not return home because he had to go to prep school. She said she want to visit his room again, but he declined because his room was dirty. Their conversation touched on the violin which she had found in his room in past. She wondered because Hiroki said the owner of the violin had disappeared.

They arrived at his dormitory's gate. Hiroki said again he couldn't accept her visit today because his room was really mess. However, she knew Hiroki is rejecting her. She was unwilling, and kept silent a while. She said "Instead, could you play violin for me? I want to listen your song, like the person."

At that time, dorm mother found them. She passed a letter to him Takuya asked to her. Hiroki refused the letter, but the girlfriend received it. She gave him a ribbing about the cute handwriting on address side of the envelope. He showed his back to her and said "Throw it away." She found the sender's name on the back. "From Sayuri," she read it. At that moment, Hiroki stopped, and turned round.

Hiroki said he adjusted the group extraction filter based on Dr Tsukinoe's paper. Tomisawa was surprised because Tsukinoe was Union's scientist. Tomisawa's labo staffs were monitoring six branched world in the experiment, but they lost the connections finally. Those worlds were vanished.

Hiroki went out from the labo-room. He remembered the day when Tomisawa and Maki told him that Sayuri may have some mysterious connection with the Tower. Tomisawa said Dr Tsukinoe, the designer of the Tower, is her grandfather. Even Tomisawa didn't know the detail of what was going on. But the power of the Tower had possibilities to influence Sayuri's sleeping illness. Maki said they found "the extraordinary space" produced around the Tower is controlled by Sayuri's dream and Sayuri might want to keep sleeping by own will.

Maki's words meant Sayuri would not wake as long as the Tower is working.

Takuya dialed Hiroki's cell phone. At that time, Hiroki was in a break between classes, but he didn't answer the phone. Hiroki got back to dormitory after school. The housemother of his dormitory said that a boy in unfamiliar school uniform wearing glasses visited here today but already left. The housemother passed Hiroki a letter from the boy to Hiroki. Sayuri said "Is the snow delicious?" with smile. "Sorry I'm late. I brought your violin."

Story:
Prof Tomisawa was giving an academic lecture about multidimensional world theory at US-Japan Military Research Reporting Session. According to his lecture, the branching of the worlds has bias, and to get quantum-level information about that will make political/military advantage because it tells us some of about futures and results of choice. Ironically, the information mostly would be gotten by the Tower built by their enemy, Union. He also mentioned that he hoped every choice by human, made in past or in future, was not for oppression but based on well-considering looking at our distant future.

After the lecture, Tomisawa met his old friend Okabe. Tomisawa said the Tower itself is not a military installation and it will be broken down easily by PL Outer-Shell Bomb. He also warned that if Uilta Liberation Front, Okabe's anti-Union underground organization, shot PLOS Bomb to the Tower, definitely war break out. However, Okabe said a certain number of people wanted war, and he was one of them.

Maki was doing her work at lab. She was called to Tomisawa's office. He hand a report about a case of a girl's sleeping sickness for three years to her and asked about her schedule visit to Emishi Manufacturing Company, Okabe's factory, with Takuya today. She remembered Okabe well because she met him when she had been Tokyo with Tomisawa for Military Research Reporting Session, because he had laughed like a horse in talking. Tomisawa mentioned that Okabe had not laughed after Union had robbed his family. But he became normal as in old times, after he got to know Hiroki and Takuya.

Tomisawa said that Hiroki and Takuya were emotional support of Okabe's, and Okabe was also Takuya's because Takuya was in situation like Okabe. Tomisawa wanted to help them, but he could't help keeping distance from them. He implied to Maki to do as he do.

Takuya visited Okabe's factory alone. He asked to use Okabe's computer for access Union's academic network. After finishing it, Okabe drove him to station(?). While running the car, they talked about Tower. Okabe said Tower should be destroyed soon because many people is sacrificed for the project, even if the Tower enabled precognition. Takuya didn't think so. He said if the Tower was standing on such sacrifices, we should not lose it.
Okabe mumbled he was afraid of human's degeneration by precognition. But Takuya wisecracked that human was degenerated from the very beginning. He said "to fight for peace" has killed people, and we can't end war forever; if we had a chance to choose, we should get the world, in which Okabe's family stayed here, Takuya's mother had not ran out on his father who had been involved in a war and Takuya himself had not betrayed Hiroki. Okabe said all Takuya should do was phone call to Hiroki and said "Sorry 'bout that."

Okabe drop Takuya off and went back. Takuya tried to phone Hiroki with hesitation, but he stopped as Hiroki might not pick up if his number is displayed.

Maki found Takuya and came up. She said she would buy some gift (cake?) for him as a token of apology for breaking promise. Takuya asked her to use her cell phone to call to Hiroki. She left her bag with him and said her phone was in it. Hiroki looked for in her bag, and, happened to find a picture spilled out from a folder.
Tomisawa's lab staff got a phone from Hiroki. She told Tomisawa that please wait here for Takuya because he wanted to talk with Tomisawa. Tomisawa said OK. He looked at picture in his hand, which was a picture of Sayuri, remembering what Okabe said when they met with in Tokyo: "Listen, Tomisawa, everybody is waiting for the signal gun of war...."
