This page is English document of the CG anime " Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho " - The place promised in our early days - (Trailer).
 I (Shimamura@Willson) translate it unofficially. There is not relation with Mr. Makoto Shinkai / CoMix Wave at all, this matter asks Shimamura@Willson for an inquiry. My English ability is not the proficient, there is possibility of mistranslation about contents. If you could find some mistranslation, inform me please.

The Japanese original manuscript is used from "all lines of Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho Trailer version," that article is carried on "OUT OF STANDARD" of Mr SCENE.
In addition, confirmation of English is given cooperation of Mr. Sasaki and Mr. daike.
And the poem written by Kenji Miyazawa is translated by Kiyo-san(It is carried on Kiyo’s Pages. It might be not completed if there is no support of them.
I express my thanks deeply.

Several small airplanes (or birds) which fly like a dance backed by a big cloud.Their wings are shining in the rays of the sun. 

Sayuri : "The sky is color such as an old photograph."

Wind is blowing hair of Sayuri, looking up airplanes, and at footsteps to step on a pebble

Sayuri : "Surely the place of our promise ....is not far."

Sayuri goes up slope of a grassy plain toward a tower.
A tower rises on a grassy plain, and something  such as a hieroglyphist is drawn on the surface of a tower.

Some airplains, which brightening their wings, are flying around the tower,and Sayuri rushes up to a tower and looks up at the sky.

Sayuri : "Oh, Velaciela , wings of Fujisawa kun."

A deep and long ditch is carved on a tower.
Sayuri rises in stairs in the inside of it.
The distant grassland under the eyes, there is the tower's shadow at the long stretched. Many lines of Stonewalls are around the tower. She finishes going up a tower, and she  breaths deeply. Long hair of Sayuri dances in wind blew powerfully.

The white body of Velaciela glides turning around a tower.
Velaciela leaves hissing sounds and flies away.
The straight tower, which runs through a cloud, and reaches the heavens, is seen over there.

Sayuri : "The promise in our school days...., I would go to the Tower."

Fingers of Sayuri, to prepare to turn up a page of a textbook

Sayuri : "You asked me...."

Sayuri reads a textbook aloud in a classroom.
It is a calling of a cicada from the outside of a window.
Sunlight to insert powerfully makes a strong shadow here and there.

Sayuri : "....to get The last bowl-ful of snow, descended from the skies,"

Hiroki and Takuya listen attentively to in a voice of Sayuri than contents of reading aloud.
Voice of Sayuri is clearing up than notes of cicadas.

Sayuri : "....The realm of galaxies and suns and atmospheres... "

A lot of fluorescent lamps are hanged; dropping long shadows on a ceiling.

Hiroki : "At that time, we longed for two things"

A group of twittering  small birds flies away from autumn rice fields.
Shadows of Hiroki and Takuya walking in a footpath between rice fields.

Hiroki : "Sayuri Sawatari and the other side of the straits."

Hiroki and Takuya are looking up at small birds while carrying parts of an airplane.

Hiroki : "That huge tower which rises in Hokkaido under the UNION occupation."

The scenery that a local railroad runs,the straight tower which rises in he party of a high mountain.
Their eyes overtake a small bird, and it is flowed into a tower.

Another world that Japan divided it, and was governed after the World War II.

Top of the tower  disappear to the sky where it has begun to go down. It is a deserted station track of a mountain.

Sayuri rushes up to the plane lighted up by sunlight.

Sayuri : “What a amazing! Airplane!"

Sayuri is glad to watch the proof that converts a dream into form.
Hiroki and Takuya turn eyes to Sayuri than an engine.

Hiroki : "Ah...so?"

Hiroki reddening cheeks plays with an engine (just a pose).
Takuya watches it with a ridiculous face.

Hiroki : "We go flying to the tower of Hokkaido by this airplane."

Three overlook scenes, Sayuri and Hiroki and Takuya and Velaciela.

Super sonic speed bombers keeping a formation flys to turn in the sky of dusk, and the tower stands far away.

Sayuri : "Let's promise!"

Hiroki biting a bread,and Takuya smokes.
 Sayuri stands still in her room alone.

Sayuri : "Promise...."

Hiroki : "Changed school?"

In a shadow of a corridor, a blackboard and a platform of the classroom can be seen where there is nobody.

Hiroki : "Both two we were unrequited love after all"

Sayuri and her mother(?) listen an explanation (of her ill?)from a doctor.

Hiroki : "I can not but think so."

Hiroki and Takuya walk separately both side and go to pass each other in the shine of the day to decline.

Tokyo, 2001

Sayuri : "I want you to notice me  Fujisawa-kun."

Hiroki is surprised that he found a shadow seems like Sayuri at platform through the window of the train.
Hiroki stands up from a seat unintentionally.

Sayuri stands on where winds shake grasses.
Hiroki run through automatic examination of tickets.

Hiroki : "But I feel her the nearest person for no special reason."

Three books which were piled up and bright ground-cherry with a vase of Pet bottle.

A screen of vital  monitor (Probably it shows Sayuri's) continues ticking away a wave pattern.
Sayuri continues sleeping in a bed by the expression that seems to grieve in something.
Sayuri walks totteringly  on stonewallin a grassy plain while keeping the balance in both hands.

She goes to a place of a promise in a long sleep.

Sayuri stops and looks at a cloud and a tower built straight.

Takuya operates a keyboard, Hiroki watches Takuya by the side of  him, and a keyboard resounds noisily.

Takuya : "It may be related what the UNION is going to do and the disease of Sayuri."

In a monitor, a figure of chart repeats divergence from the starting point.
Aegis Cruiser, carrier, and Predator (an unmanned spy plane) .

Takuya : "It may be related with each other."

Tanks shoot guns to a night sky in snowstorm. Back of them, there is the tower.

Hiroki catch a shoulder of Takuya and let him turn around, and cry something.
Velaciela flies away from a precipice of the seaside to the straits (a sound, propeller plane).
After a gliding decent, it raise altitude.
It flies over the sky and the sea of the same blue.

Hiroki and Takuya get closer to a secret of the tower, the world, and herself.

Sayuri : "Don't come here again."

The telephone box where nobody is.
A public telephone of gray color.

Sayuri sit on a floor of a sanitarium sickroom with a cellular phone in her hand.

The sanitarium sickroom where the setting sun forms a shadow into.
Her mother(?) attends Sayuri that there is in a bed.

The streetlight which rises like a tower toward a night sky.

Sayuri : "I can see what  Fujisawa-kun thinks about all."

A unit bus (in a sanitarium?)
Shower and  feet of Sayuri reflected in a mirror.

A rising cloud, a grassy plain, and a contrail to spread over a tree.

There is a snow scene outside the  window, and face of Takuya is reflected in it .
The breath that he vomits is white.

Takuya: "Save Sayuri?"

A small metallic sound to take off a safety bolt of a gun.
Hiroki looks up at Takuya in sitting.
Takuya points the muzzle to Hiroki.
Snow falls calmly at the other side of a window.

Takuya: "Or save the world?"

A station rising in a silhouette in the snowy falling morning sun,
Hiroki stands on the edge of a platfome and watches the world.

Sayuri : "The world is really beautiful, but...."

Sayuri standing on a grassy plain.
Towers such as several art objects are stood to surround her.

Sayuri : "I am lonely and lonely, and am uneasy. Only I am separated from warmth, gentleness, and pleasure of the world far distantly."

Hiroki's hand touches cheeks of Sayuri, She is as if "Sleeping Beauty".

Velaciela which flies in a snowstorm from the screen center to this side.
A screen is replaced, and, Velaciela flies straight toward a tower.

Hiroki: "I regain all, this time."

In that far day,
We promised that would be never realized.

"Kumo no Mukou, Yakusoku no Basho"
